Sheriff John P. Daughtery

John Parker Daughtrey was born in Lenox, Georgia. Attended school and graduated from Cook County High School in 1969. Working different jobs until joining the Tifton Police Department in 1974. Sheriff Daughtrey received his certification in law enforcement moving on to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office in 1975 through 1983. He then worked for the United Post Office and farmed his homestead until accepting a position as Chief of Police of Lenox in January 2005 until he was elected Sheriff in November 2008.

Sheriff Daughtrey took office January 1, 2009 and has been active in many organizations in the community.

Sheriff Daughtrey has been married to Kathy Bloodworth since April 1971. They have three children, Mandy, Shane and Penny, and 5 grandchildren.
